About Us
History
As a child, O.G. “Bud” Steinman was enamored with the auctioneer’s chant, and dreamed of becoming an auctioneer. Despite building a successful trucking company, Bud never lost his excitement for auctions, and in 1966 he sold his business to start working part-time as an auctioneer.
After attending the Reppert School of Auctioneering in Decatur, IN, Bud founded AAA Auction Service in 1972 as a full-service, full-time auction company, holding household auctions on multiple evenings and Saturdays each week. During this time of early growth, Bud took pride in helping new auctioneers get started in the auction business, several of whom went on to build their own successful auction companies.
In 1982, AAA Auction Service moved from a leased building into its permanent location at 2110 McConnell Drive in New Haven, IN. At this time, the business also added a commercial/industrial division to complement the estate business. Bud’s son Ron Steinman joined AAA Auction Service full-time in 1986, and developed a successful appraisal department while gradually taking over many day-to-day responsibilities of managing the business.
Bud Steinman passed away in 2000, leaving behind a thriving auction business and fond memories for his family and friends.
Today, AAA Auction Service conducts estate and commercial/industrial auctions and appraisals in the greater Fort Wayne area and throughout the Midwest. AAA Auction Service remains a fixture in the local community, proudly sponsoring a wide range of benefits, charities, and community organizations. Most importantly, 45 years after Bud took a big chance to fulfill a childhood dream, his excitement for auctions and commitment to service continues today at AAA Auction Service.
